Viennese Waltz - Although I do not consider myself a talented dancer, I am not at all afraid of the Viennese Waltz, and have enjoyed attending several balls in Vienna, the US, and the UK.

Theatre - I enjoy live theatre, particularly when it is does not take too much artistic license and is not dogmatically political.

Jane Austen Society - Although I consider myself an illiterate engineer, I do admire the wit and style of authors such as Jane Austen, and enjoy the occasional thought-provoking conversation over a cup of tea.

Skiing - On several occasions my daughters and I have enjoyed the downhill ski runs at Mount Hood.

Music - I have played the trombone for several years, although not recently.  I also have a grand piano which my youngest daughter enjoys playing.

Sailing - I have enjoyed day-sailing on Lake Michigan, the Charles River, and in Newport, RI.

Fencing - I have never been more than a beginner, but it has been great fun.
